SSI is shorthand for Supplemental Security Income.

SSI has the exact same requirement of being disabled from work, but it is a needs based program. In other words, the program is reserved for people who do not have the needed work credits for SSDI, and don't have more than $2000 in the bank (there are some other restrictions, but these two cover most everybody).

It does not matter to me if I am working to get you SSI or SSD, I treat all of my clients with equal dignity and respect.
